Charging speed depends on the car’s battery capacity, the battery level at the time of connection, the charging capacity of each car model, the cable used for charging (single-phase or three-phase depending on the model). At AC power stations, a full charge (from 0% to 100%) of an electric car can take an average of 2-4 hours, while at a DC station a charge of 0% to 85% – 90% of the batteries can take an average of 25 minutes.
Parking is free of charge or billed for, depending on the policy of the management of each car park.
Most EasyGo Charge Points are Free to use. However, some Charge Point owners have a usage fee. This fee can be seen on the EasyGo map/app at the Charger location.
If a Charge Point is Pay to Use, the fee for AC Chargers is £0.20 connection and a rate between £0.8 and £0.35 per kWh of use.
The fee for DC Chargers is £0.20 connection and a rate of £0.35 per kWh of energy delivered.
£0.35/minute overstay parking fee applies when you have been charging for more than 1 hour.
All AC Charge Points have Type 2 sockets, the European standard. Users must have their own Type 2 male charging cable on the side connected to the charging station and depending on their car with the corresponding female plug.
Type 2 examples are – for BMW, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Porsche, SMART, Renault ZOE etc. Type 1 – J1772 – for NISSAN, Peugeot, Citroen Mitsubishi, etc.
We are constantly adding new charge points to our EasyGo Network. Charger locations can be seen on our map. Our map also contains other EV charging stations – details and locations only.
Upon registration, you’ll be asked to tick the box if you want a Key Fob sent out by post. Key fobs will be sent to you within 10 working days. The cost for receiving an extra or replacement Key Fob is £5.00 per fob plus £1.00 postage. Please email us (support@easygo.ie) if you require extra fobs for your account or a replacement fob.
The EasyGo app or the web portal (found by clicking on ‘Access Chargers’) alone can be used to interact with the charging network. However, there are times when wireless connectivity is no available. This is where a key fob, using RFID technology is of benefit as a backup. Secondly, some customers prefer to use the key fobs for charging as they are fast and convenient to use.
You can see details here on how to use the 50kW chargers or view our videos on YouTube.
